It has also been very reliable I've had no issues with paper jamming or rollers failing. Things I like on the printer is the auto power-save, duplex laser colour printing, print speed, and the big paper tray cassette. That being said, there is so many apps now for iphone etc that can do a pretty reasonable job of imitating "scanning" using the phone's camera. If you want to do receipt scan, you would likely need to sticky tape them on to A4. It is no good as a receipt scanner, and it cannot do direct duplex scan (you must instead pass documents through feeder, then turn them over). The scanner on the printer is ok… but only if you are scanning A4 style documents. The toner's are also very expensive if purchasing 'genuine' toners.
It's a good printer, though the 3 separate colour toners don't last very long if doing large colour photo/image prints. I have the 9140CDN which is for the most part the same printer with exception of some of the newer connectivity methods. reviews are pretty mediocre, and user comments indicate problems with the rollers failing and with paper jamming regularly.

Generic toner is cheap: $50 for a full set of 4 toner, each 2200 to 2500 pages with 5% coverage. Toner is the same as the Brother HL-3150CDN.Yes, listed on the Cloud Print cloud-ready printers page:.

Scans to a share on my NAS without issue.ĭuplex scanning is good, but occasionally there is bleed through of the opposite pages content.įull auto duplex printing is reasonably quick and flawless.Ĭan't comment on software aside from the basic driver as i setup the printer via it's web interface to scan etc… Prints direct / LAN / WiFi / Google cloud without issue. Very happy with just about everything about it.įirmware updates come occasionally which seems to show they still care about the model. Not sure how much of this is relevant but i'd like to share in case it helps. You pretty much pay $500 for a $100 printer and gets a lot of ink with it.
These are pretty crap printers, usually built on the XP-100 to XP-300 models.
They were giving the typical speech to lead you to one of the Epson EcoTank. And you did not listen to the salesman and bought the printer? And when the ink runs out you buy a new printer?ĪP: HP OfficeJet Pro 8745 All-in-one Printer
